การถามราคาสิ่งของเป็นภาษาอังกฤษ ดูเป็นเรื่องง่าย แต่หลายคนก็ถามไม่ถูก เช่น ถามว่า

How much is the price?
How do you sell it?
เป็นต้น

การถามราคาสิ่งของกับผู้ขาย เป็นภาษาอังกฤษ ถ้าถามแบบสั้น ๆ ก็ถามว่า

How much?
What is the price? (price ≠ prize)

ถ้าจะให้ดี ถามเป็นประโยคดีกว่า ให้ใช้รูปแบบ

How much is/are + ....?
หรือ
What is the price of + .....?

ในกรณีที่หยิบของขึ้นมา หรือชี้ให้คนขายดู อาจจะไม่ต้องบอกว่าเป็นอะไร ก็ได้ ถามตรง ๆ เช่น

How much is this?
How much is it?

นอกจากนี้ อาจจะถามแบบอื่น ๆ อีก ก็ได้ เช่น

What does it cost?
What does this cost?
What does this cost exactly?
What exactly does the shirt cost?

ถ้าเป็นการถามแบบสุภาพ อาจจะถามว่า

Could you tell me how much it costs?
Could you tell me how much this costs?
Could you please tell me how much this costs?

ถ้าเป็นการถามเพื่อนว่า ซื้อมาราคาเท่าไร ให้ถามเป็น Past Tense เช่น

How much did it cost?
How much did it cost you?
How much did you pay for it?
What was the price of the    shirt/shoes/etc.   ?
Do you mind telling me how much did it cost?

ไม่ควรใช้ประโยคต่อไปนี้ ในการถามราคา

What is the prize?(prize ≠ price)
How much is the price?(ให้ใช้ What is the price?)
